Our Story
Founded in 2007 by José Chavez and Lilia Madera, our paletería proudly became the first Mexican ice cream shop in Salt Lake City.
From the very beginning, it was born out of a passion to share the authentic, handcrafted flavors of Mexico — made with love, tradition, and the finest ingredients.
Today, under the direction of Rogelio Alvarez, nephew of the founders, we continue to honor the family legacy. Our original recipes come straight from Tocumbo, Michoacán, known around the world as the “Ice Pop Capital of the World.” It’s there where the art of making traditional paletas, ice creams, and aguas frescas was born — and where our story began.
With every flavor, we celebrate Mexican heritage and bring a taste of home to the heart of Utah.
